April was a very busy month! So this is a pretty big post but it all really happened in April, ah!!
I made these cupcakes for Aspen to take to her last day of preschool which also fell on her birthday. One of the moms had her baby a few weeks before this and another was getting ready to move, so we figured it was time to be done. We all brought treats and just let the kids play while all of us moms got to visit. I used my paper punch out to make the snowflakes out of fondant, then let them dry overnight so they would stand up straight when I put them in the cupcakes. I loved how they turned out!
And here is her Frozen birthday cake! I loved how it turned out and so did Aspen!!
Hunter had a T-ball game the day of Aspen's birthday.
This year our neighbor was on his team and also his cousin Talee.
Hunter and Talee both trying to get the ball.
I think he liked having kids he knew on his team!
After Hunter's game we went back home for presents and cake and ice cream with grandparents and a few cousins that joined us from the T-ball game.
I love the care she took to open this!
This is what Hunter and Timber got her, Hunter looks pretty excited about it!
She of course needed lots of Frozen stuff! She loves Frozen! The barbie by her feet was given to her from the neighbor girl that was in her preschool group that was getting ready to move. The days preschool was at their house Aspen would always find some time to play with her barbies! So when she found out it was Aspen's birthday she went and picked one of her barbies that Aspen always plays with there, wrapped it up and brought it over. I thought it was so cute of her! Aspen got her first 3 barbies for her birthday, the one from her friend and we got her an Elsa barbie and Grandma Lisa got her an Anna barbie.
I love how the kids were all trying to gather around her to see!
Time for the cake!
Big breath!
She got all 4! Happy 4th birthday miss Aspen!
Timber has started to become a little climber!
Still can't walk, but she can climb!
This is the day after Aspen's birthday in her new outfit. Can you guess who took this picture?
This guy! The camera was left out from that night and he just can't resist!
The weekend right after Aspen's birthday was Easter. Ben was on call so we weren't able to go to Kanab with my family. So Ben's co-worker let us use his property to go camping on for the weekend. Ben and Jesse had been talking about us going out there at work and Jesse ended up deciding they wanted to go out there too. They also invited another friend, and a family from their ward, who then invited another family from the ward. So all in all there were 5 families out there. We tried to get Ben's family to come out with us, but Ben's brother Tyler was bringing his girlfriend Kerri down to meet his parents so they decided to stay in home and do stuff around town instead.
One of the families set up an Easter egg hunt for all the kids to do.
A little girl from one of the families kept giving her bear to Timber, who loved to hold onto it!
Who knew the chains from a swing could be so fun!!
Having a snooze in our tent. We are starting to out grow our tent, we can all sleep in it side by side with a tiny bit of room at the bottom, but we had to bring our smaller tent to put the majority of our stuff in. The nights were pretty chilly so we had Timber sleep in between me and Ben to make sure we kept her warm enough! Also since Ben was on call he had to leave each morning (we stayed 2 nights, Friday-Sunday) to go do the rounds, so I was glad we had other people around so we weren't out there without him! Also Saturday Danielle did a race with kids in her 4th grade class she teaches, so she left early that morning too. Then came back later in the afternoon.
We borrowed grandpa's side by side, the kids loved having a ride with Ben! This was while Timber was napping, so I took advantage of some free time to read my book in my recliner camping chair.
This is what the kiddos Easter baskets looks liked this year.
Jesse has a kid size 4-wheeler for their son Tritton.
He let our kids test it out. This is Hunter, I was pretty nervous that he wasn't going to turn in time, but he did pretty good!
Aspen didn't dare try it by herself, so Ben helped her out.
It's definitely a bit small for both of them haha!
And anything her brother and sister do, Timber has to do too!
Did you see Hunter running in for this pic in the one above?
She really didn't ever give much of a response to her ride, didn't cry or smile or anything!
All done with rides!
This is the only picture of me, so I figured I better throw it on here.
Us and Jesse and Danielle are the only ones that stayed out for Sunday, the other 3 families all went home Saturday evening. Easter fell on General Conference so Sunday morning we huddled around a picnic table with Conference playing on Danielle's Ipad and the kids with paper, crayons and stickers. And Hunter of course needed a Dr Pepper like his dad.
It's definitely not the easiest thing to get kids to sit still for a little while for Conference when you are out camping! Even though it was pretty cold Aspen wouldn't keep her coat on very well, and I tried to get her to keep her headband on to keep her ears warm but that didn't last long either.
Timber taking a Sunday morning snooze...
Little did she know that the wind had picked up and was pushing the tent so hard the side of it was inches from her face!! I kept having to go check on her to make sure she wasn't going to get smothered by the tent!
This is where Timber hung out while we were unloading the truck, she thought she was pretty cool!
The kids were very excited to get home and see what the Easter bunny had left!!
They had a great time finding their baskets and some Easter eggs around our living room!
Fresh out of the tub and already has a messy face!
Timber fresh out of the tub and finally wearing this 3-6 month onesie aunt Kira gave her!
Then it was time to dye some Easter eggs!
I love their first time dying the eggs! All of my kids have ended up pulling the eggs apart, and I think it's hilarious to watch!
Yay! I got something to eat!
Oh wait...
What is this???
The pictures got a bit out of order, cuz Timber was actually napping while we all dyed eggs, we just saved two for her to do when she woke up.
Here she is dying her eggs before she pulled them apart. This was the day we got home from the camping trip so we had all taken showers and as you can see my hair does some crazy things when I let it dry on it's own!
I love the look her face in this!
Really mom what are you having me do??? It's making my hand funny colors!
And it's cold!
One successfully dyed, one started.
Oh there's another one??
Time to taste them. Haha I think it's clear from these pictures that I love this!!
Cute Hunter selfie.
Getting ready for another T-ball game!
Ben's brothers were really wanting to have a family get together of some kind before they headed to California for the summer to sell pest control (Jaron, Cason and Tyler were all going this year and have gone several times before.) There were a few different ideas of what we should do passed around, like going to Delta or going camping, etc. Well the only weekend they could do it happened to also be the weekend I was going to be in Salt Lake for Kira's baby shower that me and Brandi and Cianna (Kira's friend) were throwing for her. So we ended up convincing them that we should all go to Lagoon! This was our kids first amusement park, they loved it!!
The discount tickets we found had to be bought in certain amounts, so Joslyn's family and Dixie went in the park first while the rest of us waited for Tyler and Kerri (Cason, and Gavin and Megan didn't end up coming.) This was Jaron and Caitlin's first time meeting Kerri, and since they were the only ones that didn't have little ones with them (besides Ben parents, but Grandparents love to be around their Grandkids) the four of them headed off to ride the bigger rides. Dwayne, Ben, me and our kiddos went off to try to find the rest of the crew so the cousins could ride together. They had said they were planning on going to the ferris wheel, but when we got there it wasn't open yet, but the rocket was! And had no lines! So Ben and his Dad rode the Blast off one real quick, then when they got done me and Ben rode the Re-entry one.
This ride was right close to the rocket, Aspen wasn't tall enough, so just Ben and Hunter went on it.
We had to find a ride that both Hunter and Aspen could ride after that, poor Aspen had watched all of us ride and hadn't gotten to herself yet! Ben gets sick on spinning rides, and I love all rides so I had no problem being the one to take them on rides while he stayed with Timber and the stroller!
While we rode this ride Joslyn and her family found us, so we rode it a second time so the cousins could ride it too!
This is how Timber spent most of her day! I had nursed her in the car while we were waiting for Tyler and Kerri and luckily didn't have to again while we were there! She had snacks, a sippy of water and jar of baby food for lunch! It's very nice when they can start eating other things too! She did take one little nap in the stroller, but it took a while of back and forth motion with the stroller to get her to fall asleep and it didn't last long, probably too noisy!
Ben and the kids on the bumper cars.
Hunter went on the Bat with Joslyn and her family, he was pretty excited to go, but looked almost queasy when he got off! He was not a fan of that one!
And the carousel was one of Aspen's favorites!
Jaron,Caitlin, Tyler and Kerri had gotten done with the rides and had played several of the games, so by the time we left all the kids had at least one stuffed animal if not 2! Ben did the game where you see how fast you can throw the ball and depending on how fast you throw it determines which prize you can get, he ended up winning Hunter and Aspen both a Ninja Turtle stuffed animal, Raphael and Leonardo, they were pretty excited about that!
We had to leave Lagoon earlier than everyone else since Kira's baby shower was that evening. Luckily Kira's and the friend's house that her shower was out are really close to Lagoon, so we still had most of the day at the park. Ben dropped me and Timber off at the shower and took Hunter and Aspen out to eat dinner. Timber fell asleep almost instantly once we started driving, since she hadn't nursed since that morning I figured she would probably wake up shortly after we got to the shower wanting to nurse, but she slept through almost the entire thing! I left her in her car seat, just undid the buckles and she was right behind one of the couches, so she could hear all the noise of the shower, but she was so tired that she slept through it! When Ben, Hunter and Aspen got done eating they waited for us at Kira's house, once we got there he informed me that Aspen pretty much slept the entire time with him too! She fell asleep right after we left Lagoon as well and he carried her into the restaurant they ate at thinking she would mostly wake up to eat, but really didn't. She pretty much just snuggled down in the booth and slept while Ben and Hunter ate! We wore these girls out!

All 3 of us that did the baby shower brought a game with us. I did Bingo where they write in what gifts they think Kira would get, and Brandi (with Mom's $) got the prizes. My Mom helped with the refreshments, she made salsa and paid for turkey wraps from Costco that Kira picked up (it's a bit crazy to try to plan a shower from a completely different town!) Me and Brandi both made cupcakes and since we were going to Lagoon I sent mine up with Brandi and Mom. Brandi made coconut ones and I made chocolate peanut butter ones. We decided they would travel better if we frosted them up there, so Kira ended up putting mine together. I also made the cupcake tags and did the invitations for the shower. Brandi did all the decorations and favors. Cianna did a game as well as a refreshment.
After we were done with the shower and Aspen woke up enough to eat a little of the leftovers at Kira's we headed back down to Jaron and Caitlin's to spend the night. We had spent the night before at their house as well. Joslyn, Tyson and 3 of their kids stayed at Grandma and Grandpa Turner's and Dwayne and Dixie had the other 2 of their kids at a hotel with them (they took 2 of their kids so they could take their car since it's more reliable and cheaper on gas.) The night we got up there we all went to dinner together with Grandma and Grandpa Turner, then went and swam at Dwayne and Dixie's hotel pool. The above picture is Sunday morning when we were getting ready to head home, there apartment had two pipes in the living room and Hunter and Aspen thought the noise they made was pretty cool. It started out with their stuffed animals but ended with them banging their head on it! Crazy kids!
Before we had headed up to Lagoon for the weekend I had noticed a rash on Aspen's girly parts, I took her in to the doctor and they ran tests to see if she had a UTI, lucky for us the give you a big thing to have her go to the bathroom in and then you pour it into the sample cup. Can you imagine trying to get a 3 year old to pee in a cup?! I'm glad we didn't have to try! They thought it was probably a yeast infection by it's looks but I don't think they wanted to traumatize my 3 year old by swabbing her (thank goodness!!) so they tested for the other first. They wanted us to start her on one medicine, but then when they got the results wanted us to change to a different one. Well when they got the results we were already headed up north for the Lagoon trip, so we had to find a pharmacy up there that would be open late enough for us to pick it up once we got there. Luckily we did find one though! It was a cream... So the poor girl had to wear panty liners while at Lagoon! She was a total champ about it though! In fact she never really even complained about her girl parts, I think she kept scratching and that's why I ended up checking to see what was going on. Once they are out of diapers you just don't check down there as often! She had recently started trying to wipe herself, so I'm sure she just wasn't doing a good enough job, so we went back to us wiping her and talking about how important it is to wipe a certain way and make sure you get all the way clean. It was pretty sad but I'm glad to say it hasn't happened again!

Timber has discovered Mac and Cheese, and she loves it!!
This crazy girl thinks that any clothes in her reach are meant to be put on!
Who cares that they are the dirty ones ready to go in the washing machine!
Or that they are pants being put on as a scarf!
She also took her first steps right before she hit her first birthday!
Got to love those first unbalance steps, and braving starting to stand without holding on to something!
The weekend after our Lagoon trip was the Kite festival! The kids had a blast!
This was our first year so we had no idea what to expect. Taking Aspen to the bathroom (a long line or porta potties) was definitely an adventure. They had them at one end of the area that was designated for flying kites, well that end happened to be the way the wind was blowing the kites! So we had to duck and dodge a few kite strings to get there, and decided to take a much longer way back to Ben, Hunter and Timber so we didn't get kite string around our necks!
We didn't want to be there all day, so we gave the kids the option of either flying kites or doing the bounce house stuff, as you can tell by the pictures they choice the bounce houses. We also ate lunch there before heading onto the bounce houses.
Both Hunter and Aspen came away from the bounce houses a bit wet! We had only bought them a few tickets but someone was leaving and handed them almost as many as we had originally bought them!
And this is how Timber spent most of her time there, she wasn't too thrilled with sitting in the stroller, riding on top of it made her much happier to be there!
Then we finished our kite festival experience with some ice cream! Timber kept scooting back and forth across the table to taste all our ice cream!
In certain lights her hair looks like it's been dipped in paint! That's what color her hair was when she was born and it never fell out, it just grew in lighter!
Since I had spent so much time on Aspen's cake this year I really didn't feel like making a fancy cake again only 3 weeks later, so This was Timber's first birthday cake! Cupcake cakes are so much faster! And I think it still turned out really cute!
Apparently it's too much work to eat lunch, it just wears you out and you have to take a little snooze.
We had taco salads for Timber's birthday dinner, which she loved! We figured it would be an easy thing that anyone coming for cake and ice cream could also have if they wanted some dinner too! We had her party on the 23rd, the day before her birthday.
She was getting so mad! She wanted a cupcake so bad and I was keeping them just barely out of her reach!
And then people started singing Happy Birthday... she completely forgot about the cupcakes right in front of her and stared around at everyone singing!
We tried to get her to blow the candle out, but she just stared at it, so we let Aspen blow it out...
and that's right when she decided she wanted to grab it, which it flickered out then lit back up right as she was about to grab it! Luckily Ben saw it and blew it out right before she touched the flame! Since we all kind of startled at the fact that she almost touched the magic relighting candle (it was not a trick candle) she was very nervous to touch the cupcakes after that! So I put the whole tray right in front of her and she sat there kicking her feet for a little bit before she finally decided to grab one!
She went for a pink one!
After I set the tray down I helped her get her wrapper off, she started kicking her little feet again when I touched her cupcake! So I made sure to keep it right in her reach as I took the wrapper off so she wouldn't be mad that I took it for a second!
She definitely liked the frosting best!
And we even let her have a Capri Sun for a drink!
Happy 1st Birthday cute girlie!!
Present time! Do you love my wrapping job of the present in the back?! After it was assembled it was just too big to actually wrap, so the box and a blanket kept it covered til it was time for her to have it.
Hunter was trying to direct her to her presents using a balloon as a guide.
And of course she needed lots of helpers!
This is what Hunter and Aspen gave her, it's a chunky puzzle and all the pieces make different noises by shaking them or pushing a button, etc.
She totally picked this! We were at Sportsmans a few weeks before her birthday and she saw this bear and fell in love with it!
See what I mean?!
The second it was out of the paper she was snuggling it and turning around! She was done with presents! That's all she really wanted!
We did convince her to open the rest of the presents though. This tea set was from Ben's parents.
And this was the big present in the box from me and Ben. I scored on this! For Hunter and Aspen's first birthdays I had gotten them the ride on cars, but we still have Aspen's and it's still in great condition so I figured we didn't need another one, but she loves to push things around so I went for this musical walker instead. Amazon had a "used" one for way cheaper than you could get a new one so I went for that. When it came it was brand new! Still had all the plastic wrap and everything! I'm guessing it must have just not been in it's original box or something, so I was pretty excited at a brand new toy for much cheaper, yay!!
She loves to climb on anything and everything!
This was the next day on her actual birthday. She ate her first pancakes that I had torn up for her, then when everyone was done I let her have at the leftovers!
Here's my sweet girl that is officially 1!! Do you recognize the outfit? She didn't have any blue shirts so she got to wear her birthday shirt when we went to Lagoon so that we were all in blue. Then it got wrapped up with the leggings it came with for her birthday, haha! So nice when your kiddos are young and don't notice things like that!
We headed to Kanab on her birthday and spent the weekend there.
She loved all the phones at Uncle Al's!! She was "talking" into all of them for quite a while!
I gave her her first yogurt and this is what happened! She threw up all over her car seat! Yuck! Luckily she was fine the rest of the day, apparently she wasn't quite ready for yogurt yet!
I thought it might be dairy, but cheesy noodles she does great with! And absolutely loves!
Timber had her 1 year old well child check on the 27th. She was 16.5 lbs which is 1% and 17.25 in. which is 0%!!! This girl loves to eat so I have no idea how she is this tiny! But she is healthy and the doc wasn't at all worried about her, or at least not once I let him know that she is a very good eater!
And I had my birthday 2 days after Timber's... I can't even remember if we did anything for it! We usually have my mom watch the kids so me and Ben can go on a date, so that's probably what we did, haha! I guess that's what happens when you have such a busy month!

Aspen had her spring dress rehearsal on the 30th.
I just love watching this girl dance!
Here's her group picture.
And practicing on the stage!
Once last practice before the recital the next day!
