Splash Pad

We had several fun trips to the Splash pad this summer too!

Aspen was just starting to learn to walk in this one, she kept getting stuck under the water umbrella thing, so I got pretty wet "saving" her, too bad I didn't have a swim suit on!

Cute babies with Aunt Kira.  We loved having her so close for the summer!

He was loving hiding under that water :)

And this goofy girl thought this was to lounge in haha!!

Fair Time!

We go to the opening night of the fair every year.  Ben's parents always treat the grand kids to a whole bunch of rides too!  And they usually save a couple tickets for me and Joslyn to go on a couple of the "big kid" rides too :)  We love it!  We get to watch the kids have fun, then get to have a little bit of kid free fun too!

I love Hunter's face in this one.  And surprise surprise he threw a fit when he got off the ride.... Same story as last year, the first ride (which happened to be the same first ride as last year) he just doesn't want to get off! Then he realizes we are going on more rides and he calms down.

Hunter is on the stairs taking his carpet up, the carpet looked bigger than him!  But he did it all himself!

Cute boys waiting in line.

Hunter is so small in this one (second to last car) that it took me a long to to realize he was in the same seat as Landen and Logan, I kept looking for him but couldn't see him!

Cute little wave, took him a few turns to notice us waving at him.

Aspen also went on the carousel, but she went with Ben while Hunter was on the first car ride so I didn't get a pic.  She was loving turning the wheel in this car!

Hehe, cute kissy lips!

I think he's excited!!

Those babies were so cute on this ride!

Peeking out of his spaceship.

Ben took Aspen down the big slide.

And Grandpa took Lucas.

Then on Saturday me and Ben took the kids to the derby.  And yep Aspen got entertained by popcorn at this one too!  We bought one of those big bags of kettle corn and she loved it!!  And of course Hunter is very content watching the cars the whole time, he does so good at derby's!

Six Flags Round 2!

The first weekend in August we took our second trip to Six Flags.  You probably don't remember but we got season passes back in April for an awesome price.  You had to buy 4 passes to get the price and this was the trip that all 4 of us got to go together.  We went with our friends Danielle and Jesse.  Our first (I think first, maybe second) summer of marriage we all went together and have talked about going again for years. We finally made it back!  And we had tons of fun!  This time Ben took the Dramamine first and didn't try the oil stuff and it worked out so much better.  I don't think he ever really got sick!  We drove down Thursday after work, then on Friday went to Magic Mountain for most of the day.  Then that night went and watched the new Batman.  I'll admit I was freaking out that I was watching the movie in a big town in California.  Any sudden movements from anyone in the theater and I kept thinking "What am I going to do if someone comes and starts shooting people here like they did in Colorado!!" Haha. Yes I'm crazy and was clinging on to Ben the whole time!  It also didn't help that it was a late showing, I think it was 11 something which is 12 something our time!  I definitely would have enjoyed it more at our small hometown theater :)  I did like the show but was just stressed out through the whole thing.  Here are the pics from our first day:

Hunter wanted a pic of us at Six Flags, so we sent this to him.  See how we were about on the ride?  We got on and got strapped in then a rain storm hit and all the big rides shut down for over an hour waiting for the storm to pass.

At first we just sat there and waited for the rain to pass, and the Dramamine drowsiness hit Ben as soon as he sat down haha!  After a little while we went and wandered around and watched a light show thing til the rides started up again.  Luckily they let us right back on once they started again.  It would have sucked to wait in the line again!

I thought this was so funny, the boys are doing the same thing and the girls are doing the same thing.

He's not advertising the X as well as he did last time :)

On Saturday we went to the Six Flags water park (it's right next to Magic Mountain) for a few hours, then headed back over to Magic Mountain for a few more rides.  While we were waiting in line we talked to some people with all matching shirts and it turned out it was a ward there for their Youth Conference.  What a fun Youth Conference!  The guy we talked to was the Stake President and he was only 30, so crazy!

This ride was way fun, we were going so fast that it was hard to keep our eyes open!

This was the ride that really made Ben sick last time, so we saved it for the very last ride and the Dramamine did it's job much better this time!

Ben's 30th!

We got back from Delta on the 24th and Ben's birthday is the 25th.  Aspen was so so sick on Ben's birthday that I pretty much did nothing for Ben.  I have never had either of my kids that sick, she would just lay on me all day and go in and out of sleep, it was so sad!  I took her to the doc on his birthday, while I was driving there I called Dairy Queen and ordered an ice cream cake for Ben, when they informed that they needed a days notice I decided to have a surprise party for him!  The Doctor gave Aspen some medicine and the next morning she was acting so much better so I decided to invite friends too not just family that I had invited that day before.  So I hurried and made some cupcakes for all the kids.  I was planning on doing Kira's nails so I called and had her go to the store for me and get frosting for the cupcakes and stuff to make an Oreo mudslide cake (it's easy, fast and super yummy!)  We have awesome friends and family that came on such short notice!
I hadn't even made him a Birthday dinner on his actual day, so I made steak and twice baked potatoes for him.  Gavin and Tiffany came a little early, I was worried it was going to give the surprise away, but he still had no idea.  Then Grandma and Grandpa came and he was a little surprised at them just randomly coming over.  Then more and more people came and he realized what was going on!  I think he enjoyed it, I probably should have done something more for his 30th but with such a sick baby on the day of his birthday this is what happened :)

See!  He looks pretty happy right!  Thanks to all who helped us celebrate!!

Delta trip #2

We usually go to Lake Powell the end of July for Ben's birthday, this year we ended up deciding to go back to Delta.  And it worked out that we got to be there for several days again, we went up Friday after work and Ben had the 24th of for Pioneer day so he took Monday off so we could stay 4 days!  This trip we had quite the adventure...
Dixie and Dwayne were the only ones coming with us this trip and Dwayne was already in Beaver for work so Dixie came with us and Dwayne met us in Delta Saturday night.  The way that we normally go to get to Delta was blocked off due to a fire.  So we turned around and went the longer way around.  Then we ended up with a flat tire on the boat trailer, and in our haste to leave (we left later than we had planned) we forgot to make sure the spare tire was in the boat.... it wasn't.
We pulled out Ben's computer and tried to decide where we were and where it would be best to go to get it fixed.  We had to leave the boat on the side of the road (we took it off an exit and tried to park it so it wasn't just right out in the open, especially since a bunch of our stuff was in it) and headed to Fillmore.
Once we got into town we saw a couple signs for mechanics and after tons of phone calls we found a place that was still open (most had just closed, it was like 6.) It took all of a few minutes for him to get us a new tire on the rim, the tire we had had a hole in the side wall so they couldn't just fix it.  After we got it fixed we headed back to the boat and Ben got it put back on... Oh ya did I mention that Ben pretty well did everything himself, I occasionally handled him something and Dixie entertained our kids.  Oh and during all this Hunter was throwing up, he hadn't been feeling well when we left home (part of the reason we left later than planned) so I had brought a bowl with him, but it was way sad :(
After Ben got it all put back together we headed back to Fillmore.  The guy that fixed the tire had told us the fastest way to get to Delta which happened to be right by his shop.  So we pulled up there again and grabbed dinner from Carl's Jr then headed up this back road that we had never been on before.  It was almost 9 p.m.  Our poor kiddos!  By this time though Hunter decided he was hungry and he tried eating and managed to keep it all down!!!  So glad the throwing up part was over!
Even our getting our food from Carl's Jr was an adventure, they made sure to inform us several times that they close at 9, a duh we ordered our food to go.  Then they called Dixie's number and when she went to get her food they asked if she still needed her order!  So crazy!  Well later when we started eating our food in the car and Ben's sandwich was not what he ordered we realized that it was probably that since her sandwich got put in our bag they thought they had already given it to her or something, haha!
The back road was so in the middle of no where and like no signs that it was pretty stressful and we kept doubting whether we were going the right way, but we did finally hit the landmark the mechanic had told us about and he was right it was a pretty fast way to get there!
We figured they would do the parade for Pioneer Day on the 24th, but they did it on Saturday and we didn't know so we missed all the festivities for that, luckily our kids are too young to have noticed missing a holiday!  On Saturday we had played in the water (not in the boat, we waited for Dwayne to come and did wake boarding on Monday instead so he could drive Ben around) went out for ice cream, and went to Ice Age 4.
On Sunday Dwayne and Dixie headed up to Salt Lake to go to Jaron's Mission President's homecoming.  After they left we got ready for church and went expecting to go to the 1 o'clock ward.  We got there just in time to be told there wasn't a 1 o'clock church!  So we turned around and headed back to the cabin haha!
On the way home on Tuesday the regular road was opened back up and as we got closer and closer to home I kept thinking "If I don't see some major fire damage soon I'm going to be ticked we went the long way around!!"  After thinking that for about an hour we finally hit the fire damage and it kept going and going and going, it was a HUGE fire, and yes right along the road!
Even with all the craziness we had a way fun trip.  I only got 1 picture for the whole trip, and it was just the kids climbing all over the stuff that needed to be packed into the vehicle to go to Delta!

Aren't they cute!

After I posted this Ben brought his camera in to load the pics and we found some pics from this trip!  So I did take pics, just not on my camera so I forgot :)

This girl has a grumpy face all the time!!

Hehe look how high up his shorts got stuck!

The sprinklers came on and since we all fit in the cabin this time we didn't have to turn them off (we usually forget to turn them off til we start getting wet since we leave the windows of our tent open.)

They were loving running through them!  It was dark so the pics didn't turn out very good, oh well :)

Look how soaked she is!!

This pic isn't from Delta it's from a few days before.  I figured I would probably want to remember why there was a cut on Aspen's cheek in all the Delta pics...  Hunter has a bruise on his forehead cuz I had told him to do something and he wasn't listening so I kicked his bum (not hard) and with his socks on the wood floor he slipped and hit his head.  I felt so bad!!!  Then we went to go on a bike ride.  We hang our bikes on hooks in our garage.  I hadn't ever had to get my bike off the hook, since Ben had hung them we had only gone on rides as a family.  Well when I tried to take my bike of the hook the tire spun and the hook wrapped around one of the spokes, I couldn't get it unwrapped and was worried that it would ruin my bike if I left it hanging from the spoke.  So I had Hunter go get one of the kitchen stools for me and I managed to get on that while still holding the bike up, but I still wasn't tall enough to actually reach the hook and get it off.  I ended up just having to pull on the bike until the hook came out of the wall, then I barely managed not to fall of the stool and not to drop my bike on the ground, instead I grabbed onto our vehicle with one hand just in time to catch me from falling and the bike in the other hand swung down and hit my leg.  Ya that bruise hurt for several weeks.  After that I peeked around the corner of the garage and told the kids to come get ready to go, I saw them coming towards me so went to hook our bike trailer onto my bike.  Then I heard a really loud cry from Aspen, so went running back around the corner.  I'm not 100% sure what happened but I think she was trying to get on our 4 wheeler and fell, the mark on her cheek is the perfect mark of the metal part your foot goes on on the 4 wheeler.  She could have also tripped while she was walking by the 4 wheeler who knows.  Luckily as a grabbed her and started heading into the house to take care of her Ben pulled up!  Remembering Hunters cut on his forehead when he was a baby I rushed inside for paper towels and liquid bandaid.  His looked just like Aspen's not bleeding but definitely cut, then all of a sudden popped open and pouring blood.  So Ben held her while I hurried and cleaned her cheek and put lots of liquid bandaid on it.  It healed really well I don't think you can even see a scar!  It looked really yucky for like a week though, then the liquid bandaid peeled off and she was all healed!  Wish I would have had that when it happened to Hunter!  That was quite the accident prone, crazy day!

Rainy Day

Got to love rainy summer days!  So nice and warm and just fun to play in!

Look how deep that is!

Both trying to stand under the best drips.

They loved it!  It was pretty cute, pretty much every door on the block opened and all the kids poured into the rain.  It was awesome!

4th of July

For the 4th of July we went on our annual trip to Delta.  We always have a blast and this time since the 4th fell on a Wednesday we got to go for way longer than usual.  We went Tuesday after work and stayed til Sunday!

Aspen was way tuckered out after the late night driving to Delta and getting up and ready for the parade.  This was while all the other kids were playing on the bounce house toys.

The whole crew (minus Ben taking the pic and Kira, she got there a little after we took this) at the demolition derby.  It was Tiffany's (Gavin's girlfriend) first ever derby.

And it was an awesome one!  There were tons of cars flipping over!  Well truck in the pic.

We kept this crazy girl entertained mostly by Jell-O popcorn.  She actually did pretty good.

And Hunter was glued to the derby like always.  He has always loved going and watching all the cars!

There was of course lots of wake boarding.  This is Ben doing a back flip.

Here's Gavin.

And Kira, she was awesome.

And me, it takes a lot of concentration for me to get up Haha!  I don't know why but I didn't have any pics of Jos, but I know she was out there too!

Another of Ben, he gets so high!!

Aspen loved playing in the sand and water.

And Hunter always loves playing on the boat, this was also the trip that we finally got him to trust his life jacket and start to swim by himself!  Ya it's basically just doggy paddling but he did great!

Aspen loved hanging out with Kira on the tube (they were right by the dock just floating.)

He loves the boat!

I love these guys!

Aspen and Lucas playing in the cabin.

And some sickies laying on the couch.  It was a bummer there was a stomach bug going around the cabin, Hunter, Kira, Dixie, Joslyn (I think that's everybody, I can't remember for sure) all got sick.  Ben wasn't sick he was just tired after playing so hard.

I love that cute smile!

This is my favorite pic of Aspen ever!  I think she looks so cute!!!

These were some fun parachute firework things Dixie got all the Grandkids, they loved them!

The next several pics are from Ben's camera (I forgot some of the pics were on his) so they are going back to the first day we were there.  This is all the kids getting some breakfast in before we headed to the parade.

Grandma, Gavin, and Grandpa waiting for the parade to start.

Aspen's first parade that she could really go get the candy, she did not want to put it in the bag!!

Such a cute pic!  Those fire trucks sure are loud!

The kids loved playing on the bounce houses at the park.  Before we had even paid for the kids to go on them Hunter took off and before we even realized he was gone he had found his way past the line of kids and up the big bounce house slide!  Little turkey!!

So Handsome!  He wants to be on the boat every time it goes out.

Look how cute her painted nails are!

Aspen's first sparkler.

Hunter with his.

Watching Ben's firework show off the dock.

The other group of watchers :)

And these two on their sick day.  It was so sad!  Hunter actually got a second wave of it on our way home too.  Poor guy!
